DigiDudes & TechDivas
Description: The DigiDudes and TechDivas technology camps focus on building teamwork, problem solving, and technological skills through fun lessons and hands-on projects. The age range is approximately grades 5-9. Camp times are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (with the exception of Camp 1 which will take place Tuesday through Friday).
Camp 1 - Creative Construction & Building the Future
This camp is for the builders and creators. Towers, bridges, cars, and catapults are just a few of the creations we will be making. Campers will have the opportunity to design and build their own structures both individually and in groups. We will also learn about how technological advancements will affect the future. Problem solving skills and ingenuity are the focal point for this week!
Camp 2 - Software and Cyber Security
As technology grows and evolves, so too does the opportunity to hack today's technological devices. This camp will expose campers to the fundamentals of cyber security and software. This includes an introduction to logic and what programming is, as well as the protection of systems and surfing/playing safely on computers and smartphones. In addition, campers will understand the basics of maintaining a safe and responsible social media profile. Campers will have opportunities to learn the basics of code and put their skills to the test making games, messing with robots, and in other fun ways!
Camp 3 - 2D and 3D Graphics
This camp is centered around using technology to develop creative works of art. This takes the form of still pictures, animation, and utilizing CAD software to bring their art into the 3rd dimension. Concepts of design will be covered and campers will learn how to use programs like Photoshop, as well as animation and CAD software. Campers will also be exposed the 3D printing and even have the chance to print their own designs!
Camp 4 - Wilbur's Wonderfully Weird Tech
The final week of camp explores ways to use technology like never before. Campers will learn tips, tricks, hacks, and facts in many fields of technology (including, robotics, computing, and communications). They will brainstorm and develop the next generation of technology to solve today's problems.
