Arts Express Summer Camps and Intensives
Description: Triple Threat Jr. Summer Camp:
• Session I dates: June 1-11
• Session II dates: July 5-16
• Open to students ages 8-12
The Triple Threat Jr. Summer Camp will inspire creativity while encouraging beginning-to-intermediate students to explore and develop their skills in the “triple threat” art forms of musical theatre: acting, singing, and dancing. We provide a learning environment that instills focus and fosters confidence, allowing each student to discover their potential as both an individual performer and a vital member of a company. This program concludes with a fun showcase for family and friends. The June and July Camps will cover different material and can be taken in succession or separately.
Triple Threat Intensives:
• Session I dates: June 14-25
• Session II dates: July 19-30
• Open to students ages 13-18
Arts Express’ Triple Threat Intensives challenge intermediate-to-advanced theatre students to develop a performance ready stamina in the triple arts of the theatre trade: acting, singing, and dancing. Through intensive training by a dream-team of theatre professionals, students will further their foundational skills, explore their artistry and develop a holistic approach to being an empowered, balanced, and embodied Triple Threat performer. These intensives culminate in an informal showcase for family and friends. The June and July Intensives will cover different material and can be taken in succession or separately.
Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr.:
• Dates: June 14-25
• Open to students ages 8-14
Journey ""under the sea"" with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney's The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney's Broadway production and the motion picture (featuring the enormously popular Academy Award-winning music and delightfully charming book and lyrics). Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories, Disney's The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.
From classic literature to the Academy Award-winning film and Broadway musical, Ariel’s undersea journey is a beautiful love story for the ages. From page to stage, students will be cast in the production of Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr., learning all aspects of musical theatre, from auditions, to rehearsals to staging the production. This magical show will be presented on the last night of camp for friends and family to enjoy! Director: Jennifer Davis
