Summer camps with the Presidio Museum

Description: Presidio San Agustín del Tucson Museum is offering three camps this summer, including Archaeology Camp, Living History & Reenactment Camp, and The Cultures of Tucson Camp.
Archaeology Camp, June 5-9:
Campers will learn how archaeologists work through hands-on activities including:
**Using prehistoric tools,
**Excavating a simulated site
**Making string from agave
**Analyzing artifacts found during excavation
The Cultures of Tucson Camp, June 12-16:
Kids will learn about different cultures, and share their own, while interacting with various local cultural organizations, including:
**Tohono O’odham Nation
**Tucson Chinese Cultural Center
**Mexican American Heritage and History Museum
**Jewish History Museum
Living History & Reenactment Camp, June 19-23:
Experience how people in the Presidio lived and learn about local history through fictional dramatization of historical events. Activities include:
*Doing the chores of a Spanish soldier
*Experiencing native desert foods
*Making adobe bricks
*Learning hands-on local agricultural practices
